VOICE & SINGING LESSONS
Vocal music is one of the oldest forms of music. It can be performed by one or more singers, with or without instrument accompaniment. Vocal music styles include classical opera and lieder, Broadway, pop, blues, jazz, country, and hip-hop.

We have many students who take voice lessons or singing lessons at our school. Our schools offer optional performance opportunities each year with our Christmas recital and Summer recital. We provide a professional accompanist who rehearses with the students and plays for them at the recitals. Many of our students also perform at local festivals. Our private, one-on-one voice lesson lengths are 30 minutes or 1 hour.

Students sing all kinds of music from their favorite artists to more classical. Our teachers all have performance backgrounds as well as professional teaching backgrounds. Just a sample of what a student will learn in singing lessons includes how to breathe properly, how to increase their range, proper pitch, how to project and stage presence. All voice students work with their teachers to develop their own unique voice.

‍HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO LEARN TO SING?

There is no set answer of how long it takes to learn to play. With regular practice a basic level of playing can be accomplished in a few months. Most of our students take lessons on a long term basis because they want to be constantly improving and they find the lessons enjoyable.

I DON’T HAVE ANY MUSICAL BACKGROUND OR ABILITY. CAN I STILL HELP MY CHILD PRACTICE?

Yes. Even if you don't have a musical background you can ask the teacher for advice on how to help your child practice. By simply monitoring that they are doing exercises a certain number of times per day the student will progress. Parents will occasionally sit in on their child's music lesson to get an idea of the proper way a song should sound or how the student should be projecting their voice. We also send lesson notes weekly and sometimes create videos to help in the most effective way possible.

$42.50 / class - Private Half-Hour Lesson
$85 / class - Private Hour Lesson

Lessons are available six days a week, and scheduled once a week.

Edison School of Music and Dance has a yearly registration fee of $35 per student.

Note: All fees must be paid by pre-authorized debit or pre-authorized credit cards at time of registration. Auto-debit from bank accounts and credit card payments are only available for regular auto-charge recurring monthly fees.Incidental fees such as music recital tickets, must be paid by check or cash. Credit cards are not accepted for individual in-person payments for lessons each month.
